Bugis Plus opened on 1 June 2009 under the name Iluma. Starbucks bugis plus (#02-12/13) on Level 2 is the most comfortable place to sit and work or wait — good wifi, a corner with counter seating overlooking the atrium, and the usual reliable menu. Coffee bean bugis plus (#01-06) on Level 1 is my preference for a more relaxed atmosphere and better cake selection. Both get busy around lunchtime; arrive before noon or after 2pm for a seat.

Golden Village GV Bugis+ opened in November 2024 on Level 5 with 8 halls — including 2 Gold Class Express halls with electronic recliner seats.
Golden Village Bugis Plus — officially GV Bugis+ — is the most significant new addition to the Bugis entertainment landscape in years. Opened in November 2024 on Level 5 (#05-01), this is GV's 15th outlet in Singapore and brings proper big-screen entertainment back to the Bugis precinct after the closure of the previous cinema in the area.
What Makes GV Bugis+ Different
The cinema has 8 screening halls — a substantial footprint — including 2 Gold Class Express halls with individually controllable electronic leatherette recliner seats and USB charging ports at every seat. Gold Class Express is GV's "premium without the premium price" concept, sitting between standard and full Gold Class in terms of luxury and price. It's the format I'd recommend for anyone who wants a noticeably more comfortable cinema experience without paying full Gold Class rates.
The lobby integrates with AZUL, a Spanish-Mexican restaurant and bar on the mezzanine level, which offers pre-order food and beverage service for the cinema. How to Get to Bugis Plus — Directions from Bugis MRT
The easiest route to Bugis Plus is via Bugis Junction — take MRT Exit B, walk through Bugis Junction, and cross the Level 3 link bridge in about 5–7 minutes total.
From Bugis MRT Station (EW12 / DT14)
- 1 Take Exit B from Bugis MRT — this leads directly underground into Bugis Junction's basement (B1). No outdoor walking required.
- 2 From Bugis Junction B1, take the escalators or lift to Level 3. Follow the signs labelled "Bugis+" or "Link Bridge" toward the far end of the building.
- 3 Cross the covered overhead link bridge on Level 3. The crossing takes about 2 minutes and is fully sheltered from the rain. You'll emerge onto Bugis Plus Level 3 near the arcade and activity zone.
- 4 Alternatively, exit the MRT at ground level (Exit A or D) and walk along Victoria Street toward the building with the LED crystal mesh facade — Bugis Plus is directly opposite Bugis Junction on the same street. Total walking time: ~5 minutes.
🚇 Bugis MRT to Bugis Plus: The link bridge route via Bugis Junction (Steps 1–3 above) is the fastest and most sheltered option — especially important in Singapore's afternoon heat or during a downpour. I almost always use this route regardless of the weather.

🌟 These are the things I wish I'd known before my first dozen visits here. Not in any guide, not on CapitaLand's website — just things that come from spending a lot of time in one building.
The Best Time to Visit Each Floor
Level 4 restaurants before 12pm or after 2pm on weekdays — Haidilao and Ramen Champion can have 20–30 minute queues during the lunch rush. The same restaurants on weekday evenings before 7pm are often queue-free. Golden Village is least crowded on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings — GV often runs Tuesday promotions that reduce ticket prices. Check before you visit.
The Weekday Evening Parking Hack
The S$3.30 flat entry fee for weekday evenings (after 6pm) is one of the best value parking deals in central Singapore. Drive in at 6:01pm for a dinner at Haidilao, move to HaveFun Karaoke for 3 hours after, and you've paid S$3.30 for the whole evening. I don't understand why more people don't know about this.
The Haidilao-HaveFun Combo Deal
HaveFun Karaoke runs a cross-promotion with Haidilao: dine at the Bugis+ Haidilao outlet and present your receipt at selected HaveFun locations for a free one-hour karaoke session with any session purchased. Available Sunday–Thursday (excluding PH). This is a legitimately excellent deal — hotpot for dinner, karaoke after, one receipt. Check both brands' current promotions before your visit as terms may have updated.
The ATMs Are on Level 3
If you need cash in Bugis Plus, the OCBC and UOB ATMs are both on Level 3 near the link bridge — easy to find if you know where to look, completely invisible if you don't. The AXS Station on Level 3 handles bill payments and government transactions if needed.
Nursing Room & Family Facilities
The bugis plus nursing room is clean and private — ask at the concierge for the current location, as it may have moved with floor renovations. Baby changing is available in the accessible toilet on multiple levels. The lifts are centrally positioned and large enough for double prams on all floors.
